Dr Twalumba Nkwilimba
Podiatric Surgeon
Dr. Twalumba Nkwilimba is a dedicated podiatric surgeon and podiatrist, graduating from the University of Western Australia (UWA) with a Bachelor of Podiatric Medicine in 2012 and a Doctor of Clinical Podiatry in 2021. She has refined her expertise through training and clinical experience in New York, Shanghai, and at the renowned Atlanta Foot and Ankle Centre. Committed to ongoing professional development, Dr. Nkwilimba continually expands her knowledge by engaging with the latest research and attending international education courses.
Dr. Nkwilimba is registered with AHPRA and is a proud member of the Australasian College of Podiatric Surgeons. She has also contributed to the field as a supervisor of Doctor of Podiatric Medicine students at UWA. Her clinical interests span all areas of podiatric medicine, with a special focus on ingrown toenail surgery, foot biomechanics, and orthotic therapy.
She adopts a youthful, evidence-based, and holistic approach to patient care, striving for the best possible outcomes through meticulous attention to detail. Her dual qualifications enable her to offer both surgical and conservative solutions for a wide range of foot conditions. Dr. Nkwilimba empowers her patients by providing clear information and a comprehensive spectrum of treatment options tailored to their needs.
Outside of her professional life, Dr. Nkwilimba is passionate about health, fitness, and exploring new places. She enjoys staying active through yoga, paddleboarding, and hiking, and loves discovering new cuisines and cultures when she travels.

Julie Hodder-Potter
Senior Podiatrist
Julie is a skilled podiatrist who graduated from Curtin University with a Bachelor of Science in Podiatry in 1999.
She has accumulated extensive experience in various settings, including private practice, high-risk foot hospital clinics, and indigenous health centres and communities. Additionally, she operated her own practice in remote Kalgoorlie for more than ten years.
Julie has completed specialised training in a range of advanced techniques, including foot mobilisation, myofascial release, dry needling/acupuncture, laser therapy, and shockwave therapy. She is committed to enhancing her clinical expertise through ongoing professional development sessions and seminars.
Julie enjoys all areas of podiatry, including general treatment, assessments and treatments for high-risk and diabetic foot conditions, surgical intervention for ingrown toenails,
biomechanical evaluations accompanied by orthotic prescriptions, as well as the treatment of warts and fungal nail infections. Her approach to patient care is based on open communication and personalised treatment plans, ensuring that everyone receives the highest quality, evidence-based treatment. After 25 years, Julie remains passionate about her career in podiatry.
In her spare time, she is a busy mother of three. She is also passionate about animal welfare and is an active blogger and amateur author.

Sarah Stapleton-Kelleher
Receptionist
Sarah works part-time at our clinic, but her presence is full-time delightful. With a friendly face and a warm smile, she’s often the first person you’ll meet when you walk through our doors. Whether she’s chatting about the day’s comings and goings or swapping stories about dogs, Sarah brings a genuine sense of connection to everyone she meets.
Outside of work, Sarah is the heart of a happy, well-run household, where she juggles life with her husband, three young adults, and their beloved dog. She’s passionate about gardening, baking, and travelling—and she never says no to a good bushwalk with friends.
Janet O’Brien
Practice Manager
Janet joined Canning Vale Podiatry and Podiatric Surgery in June 2022 and quickly became the heart of the practice. As Practice Manager, she oversees daily operations, coordinates the team, and ensures every client has a seamless and positive experience. Janet thrives in her role, managing it all with a smile and an unwavering commitment to excellence.
When she’s not running the practice, Janet is a supermom, wife, and self-proclaimed expert in multitasking. Whether it’s managing dance runs, practices, and competitions, juggling sports activities, or navigating endless airport trips, she’s always on top of it. With a love for caravanning, camping, CrossFit, and spending quality time with family and friends, Janet knows how to balance work, family, and fun with the same passion she brings to her job every day.
